Ann Jarrett, 93, longtime resident of the Long Beach peninsula, died August 18, 2010 in Federal Way, WA. Ann was born July 17, 1917 in Royalton, Illinois to Russian immigrants Mike and Sonia (Kuziv) Kovick. She was raised in the Russian Orthodox faith. She married Paul Jarrett in Chicago. He proceeded her in death in 1970. In 1937 they moved to Seattle. During the 1940's, the family began vacationing on the Long Beach peninsula and in 1967 the moved here permanently. Ann and Paul purchased a restaurant from the Marsh's in downtown Long Beach with son Bruce,named it "Jarrett's" and they operated this for the next twenty-one years. Ann was a member of the Elks and enjoyed walking. An is survived by son Bruce Jarrett of Long Beach; daughter Sonia Nelson of Auburn, WA; sister Jerri Badali of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren as well as numerous neices and nephews. Graveside services were held August 23, 2010 at Lone Fir Cemetery in Long Beach with Pastor Chris Ode of Chinook Lutheran Church officiating. Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in charge of arrangements.
