John "Blaze" Wayne Bledsoe, 58, of Long Beach, passed away Thursday, August 26th, 2010, in Ilwaco. He was born June 8th, 1952, in St. Joseph, MO., to William and Myrtle (Rudolph) Bledsoe. Blaze attended Everett Grade School in MO., and High School in Boys Town, NE. He had lived on the Peninsula for approximately 30 years. He met Linda Langston, the love of his life, and after a 10 year relationship, they married in 1994. Mr. Bledsoe worked in various restaurants and had a local following. He ended his cooking career at Potlatch Restaurant and then went to work at Cranguyma Farms. His hobbies included listenting to country music, building collections of many things, spending time with family and friends, and his grandchildren, who were the glimmer in his eyes. Blaze was mischievous, even as a child. He made everyone laugh and feel good about themselves. He loved life and lived it to the fullest. In addition to his wife, survivors include his two daughters and one son-in-law, Jessica Moore of Woodland, WA., Jennifer and Roger Wilbur of Richland, WA.; four grandchildren, Carson Moore, Ellie, Reece, and Avery Wilbur; one brother and sister-in-law, Billie and Kathie Bledsoe, Gladstone, Mo.; one niece, Ashley Bledsoe and five nephews, Christopher Bledsoe, Joshua Bledsoe, Darren Bledsoe, Raymond and Levi Featherston. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Donna Smith and Tanya Bledsoe, and a nephew, Levi Bledsoe. A celebration of life will take place at 11am, on Saturday, September 11th at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach.
