Former Long Beach resident Ken Lentz, 72, died in Cathlamet, Washington on September 1, 2010. The son of Walter and Clara (Halsey) Lentz, he was born in Oak Grove, Missouri on June 19, 1938. Ken lived in southern California for a time before moving to Skamokawa, Washington to be near family. There he worked in the woods and married Judy Heagy and they became parents of a son Curtis. Later the couple moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Ken was employed as an iron worker in construction. In 1965 he returned to the local area where he again worked in the woods and fished commercially out of local ports until retirement and he continued residing on the Peninsula . Besides his son Curtis who resides in Nahcotta, Ken is survived by brothers Stanley of Blue Springs, MO and Michel of Green Valley, MO and other members of his extended family whom he kept in close contact over the years.
