Margaret Louise Macrae

Ilwaco resident Margaret L. Macrae, 96, died October 9, 2010 in Ilwaco. She was born in Ithaca, New York on November 12, 1913, the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Dietrich) Magee. A high school graduate, Margaret was a wife, mother and homemaker residing most of her life in New York State. For many years she was a cook at the Briarcliff Manor school district in New York. Margaret moved to Ilwaco about a year ago to be with her daughter. She enjoyed her time on the Peninsula where she met many people, touched their hearts, and enjoyed the peace and tranquility of life by the sea. Margaret is survived by her daughter Karen Eisenberg of Ilwaco; son and daughter-in-law William and Ann Macrae; grandson Eric Macrae of Seattle; granddaughter Alison Demong and husband Ned; and great-grandchildren Jack and Evelyn Ann of Norwell, MA; many nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur. Private burial will be in the family plot at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery in Tarrytown, New York. Her guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
