Harold Bruce Hoffman

Long Beach resident Harold B. Hoffman, 89, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2010 in a local care facility. The son of Harry and Ella (Mueller) Hoffman he was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 15, 1921. He grew up in Ohio where he graduated from high school. Harold served his country during World War II as a member of the United States Navy. Following his military service he settled in California. There he obtained a college degree in business, owned and operated Hoffman's Music Store in El Centro, California and later was an accountant for the Museum of Natural Arts in San Diego. Harold was artistic in a variety of mediums. He painted, played the organ, wrote poetry, and took pride in his award-winning rose garden. His final accomplishment was writing his autobiography "The Last Word" which he completed just this month. He had moved to Long Beach two and a half years ago from California. Harold is survived by his wife, Marie, who resides in Long Beach. Also surviving are three daughters; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-daughters; one step-son; six step-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years Flonnie, and an infant daughter Rebecca. Following cremation Harold will be buried at El Camino Cemetery in San Diego, California.
