Ronald John Chambers

Ronald J. Chambers, 65, died at his Seaview, Washington residence on December 19, 2010. Born in Longview, Washington on January 31, 1945, he was the son of Newell and Eureka Chambers. Ron attended R.A. Long High School in Longview. Following high school Ron worked in construction in the Longview-Kelso area and was a union member. Forty years ago he moved to the Long Beach Peninsula to pursue his dream of being a commercial fisherman. Ron was still active in the fishing industry at the time of his death. Known to family and friends as "Chambo", he enjoyed fishing, crabbing and seeing his grandchildren. Married twice, at the time of his death Ron was married to his wife Tressie Chambers who survives, residing in Longview. Also surviving are his children Ronnie Chambers, Douglas Chambers, Wendy Chambers, Debbie Smith, Julie Ashe, Margie Flores, Kenneth Chambers and Lisa King; brothers Jim Chambers and Terry Chambers; sisters Darlene Gill and Susan Erwin; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held in Longview at the Columbia Heights Baptist Church were Ron was a member. The service will start at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2011.
