Ocean Park resident Jason J. Beaty, 68, died in Astoria on January 20, 2011 with his family at his side. The son of William and Pheba Beaty, he was born October 30, 1942 in Alexandria, Indiana. He attended high school and moved to the Peninsula 24 years ago. Jason was employed for many years as a long haul truck driver for companies such as Prime Trucking, Action Carrier and Mitchell Brothers Motor Freight. In his spare time he enjoyed tinkering on cars, helping others, and the quiet life on the Peninsula. He attended Family Worship Center in Ocean Park. Jason is survived by his life partner and sweetheart, Barbara Palmer of Ocean Park; special friend Patricia Haney of Ocean Park; daughters Bobbi Nelson and husband Todd of Arizona, Billy Beaty of Arizona, and Heidi Ragan and husband Mike of Ocean Park; sister Kay Wells and husband Charles of Herrin, Illinois; grandchildren Erica and Catiee Nelson and Mark Ragan; several nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by brothers Clay and Gene Beaty. A celebration of his life memorial service will be held at the Family Worship Center in Ocean Park on Sat., March 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM followed by a potluck lunch.
