Vivian N. Currie, 67, died at her Seaview residence on February 6, 2011. The daughter of Walter and Wilma Overton, she was born in Battleground, Washington on April 22, 1943. On August 25, 1961 she married William Currie. She was proud to have survived over 20 years as a United States Marine Corps wife. Thirty years ago she and Bill retired to Seaview. Vivian enjoyed her musical talents and locally she formed The Noisy Neighbors, a group of fellow musicians who resided on the Peninsula. Since 1982 they played at local nursing homes every Wednesday and Friday and also at other venues. When needed, Vivian also filled in at local churches for Sunday services. Vivian was a member of the Rekekahs lodge and was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed table games, bunco, and time with her family. Besides her husband of nearly 50 years she is survived by her son William Currie IV; daughter Gennie Harper Currie; grandsons William Currie V and Benjamin Currie; and brother Lyle Overton of Battleground, WA. Funeral service will be held Friday, February 11, 2011, 9:00 AM at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach with a reception following at the chapel. Concluding graveside rites will be at Lone Fir Cemetery, Long Beach. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to the church of one's choice or the Ilwaco High School Music Department, PO Box F, Ilwaco, WA 98624.
