Diane Irene Minoza passed away peacefully in Long Beach, Washington on April 5, 2011, where she had made her home for the past 12 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister; and her family will miss her so very much and will always cherish so many wonderful memories. Diane was born on July 23, 1939, in Fargo, North Dakota, the youngest of four children, to Irene and Charles Regan. She moved to Seattle, Washington when she was six years old, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. Diane married Gourdon Minoza on February 2, 1968, and shared 13 wonderful years with Gourdon. Diane made her career as a secretary/legal secretary, having worked in Shelton, Seattle, Tacoma, Yakima, and Port Angeles. In the last several years, she managed the Surf Apartments in Long Beach, Washington, looking out for the tenants and always seeing to their needs. Diane was a very independent woman, and this was evident when she drove to Alaska at the age of 50 with her only companion, her dog "Poopsie". Diane loved that adventure very much and had much to share with family and friends. In 1998, Diane followed her dream to live at the ocean, and moved to Long Beach, where she made great friends and memories. Diane was a member of the Elk's Lodge in Long Beach, and enjoyed socializing with friends there. Diane was also an avid Seahawks and Mariners fan, and her family knew not to call her until the game was over. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Charles, her brother Jack Regan of Riverside, California, her sister, Shirley Ackley of Portland, Oregon, Gourdon Minoza, of Olympia, Washington, and her beloved dogs, Poopsie and Peaches. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Leonard) Jones, of Seattle, Washington, her daughter Ann (Robert) Monger of Port Angeles, Washington, her four grandsons, John (Stephanie Joyce) Monger of Seattle, Washington, Stephen (Gina) Monger of Port Angeles, and Ryan and Brandon Monger, both of Port Angeles, and her great granddaughter, Jaelyn Ann Monger of Port Angeles. Diane also loved very much and will be missed by her step-children, Stephen (Cindy) Minoza of Alaska, Theresa (John) Dreaney of Bremerton, Washington, Laurie (Todd) Maas of Bremerton, Christopher Minoza of Portland, Oregon, and Patricia (Rob) Smith of Bremerton. Diane loved animals very much, and her family requests on her behalf that in lieu of flowers, any donations in her name can be made to the Animal Shelter in Long Beach, Washington. A celebration of life will be held for Diane at 1:00 p.m. on May 21, 2011, at the Lighthouse Oceanfront Resort, located at 12417 Pacific Way, Long Beach, Washington. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
