Terri Linn (Chalker) Mitchell

Ocean Park resident Terri l. Mitchell, 52, died of natural causes on June 3, 2011 in Ilwaco. Born in Portland, Oregon on July 24, 1958 she was the daughter of the late Howard and Lois (Young) Chalker. At age 10, Terri moved to the Peninsula with her parents from the Portland area. Terri attended local schools and was a 1976 graduate of Ilwaco High School. She was employed locally in a variety of occupations including florist and waitress. Terri loved life, family and friends. She enjoyed crafts with bead work, dried flower arrangements and was an avid collector and "picker" of rare bottles and antiques with she utilized for her dried flower arrangements that were often shared with others. Walks on the beach, camping, activities with her grandchildren and watching Lifetime movies on channel TV were favorite past-times. Friends say she had the "kindest and gentlest soul they ever knew" and her family remembers her as having "a heart of gold". Survivors include her fiancée Greg Simons of Ocean Park; children Riley Hill of Salem, OR and Shalisa Hill of Long Beach; step-daughter Tiffany Simons of Racine, WI; grandchildren Kayden Benson, Karissa Simmons and Brett Simons; brother Greg Chalker of Ocean Park; sister Debbie Barr of Clatskanie, OR; and other members of her extended family.
