James C. Morgan

February 29, 1948 — June 14, 2011

A life long resident of the Long Beach Peninsula, James C. Morgan, 63, of Ocean Park, died in Ilwaco on June 14, 2011. Born in Ilwaco on February 29, 1948 he was the son of George and Josephine Morgan. Jim grew up on the Peninsula where he received his education in local schools. Always an industrious and hard worker, Jim was employed in the local oyster businesses for a number of years before becoming a cook. He cooked at Grannie Annie's Restaurant in Ocean Park for quite a few years and for the past eleven years was the kitchen manager at Peninsula Moose lodge where he was a member. Jim was also a member of Ocean Park Eagles. Jim enjoyed many friendships and it has been these friends who have been so supportive of Jim and his family through the recent illnesses and his entire bright life. This has been most appreciated. Jim is survived by his wife Kelly Morgan of the family home in Ocean Park; children Christine Morgan, Shawn Morgan, April Morgan and Hope Morgan; step-daughters Meghan Jackson, Liz Farrow and Hannah Whitlow; brother Ernie Morgan; sisters Marlene, Karan, Susie and Jennifer. Also surviving is his former wife Kathleen Morgan; and uncles Bill Stevens and Chester Stevens. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Denton Morgan. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, June 18, 2011, 2:00 PM at the Peninsula Moose Lodge in Ocean Park with a potluck following. His guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
