Michael Barrett

Michael S. "Mike" Barrett, 48, died at his Ilwaco residence of natural causes on June 23, 2011. Born in Portland, Oregon on April 29, 1963 he was the son of Robert and Joann (Crawford) Barrett. Mike grew up in the Portland area and attended and graduated from Sandy High School. Following high school Mike moved to the Peninsula to pursue his dream of commercial fishing. He and his dad fished together for a number of years out of Ilwaco, plying the local waters. He later bought his own boat and was fishing until his death. Fishing was his lifeperiod! Mike is survived by his parents Robert and Joanne Barrett of Gladstone, OR and sister Jenny Barrett of Anchorage, Alaska. He was preceded in death by his son Luke Barrett. No service is scheduled.
