Kenneth I. Freeman, 89, a 45 year resident of the Peninsula, died November 2, 2011 at his Ilwaco residence. A native of Vancouver, Washington, Ken was born there May 13, 1922. He was a high school graduate and veteran of the United States Navy during the Second World War. Ken was employed locally as a truck driver in the fish processing industry for a number of years. He and Alberta Sadewasser were married July 3, 1947 in Vancouver; she survives residing at the family residence in Ilwaco. Also surviving are a daughter Carol (Greg) Petit of Ilwaco; brother Claude Freeman of Long Beach; grandchildren Tina (Kevin) Ward, Craig (Misty) Petit and Andrew (Angela) Petit; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous other members of his extended family.
