Long Beach resident Ruth E. Gove, 57, died in Ilwaco on February 26, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. The daughter of Harold and Donna (Dailey) Kopejtka, she was born July 20, 1954 in Vancouver, Washington. Ruth grew up in Camas and later resided in Elma before moving to Klipsan Beach in 1967. On November 18, 1981 she married Floyd Gove and became a wife, mother and homemaker. She assisted her husband in operation of the family business, Gove Construction. Later the entrepreneurial spirit struck and she operated her own successful cleaning business, A-Mop-A-Lot in the Puyallup, Washington area in conjunction with her daughter until illness. Ruth was diagnosed with cancer four years ago and she battled the illness with all she had. She supported the annual Relay For Life run as a member of the Active Enterprises team and this team will be named "Rooders Angels" in her honor for this years event. Ruth enjoyed shopping trips with family and friends, gardening and just being in the beautiful outdoors. She took pride in her interior design talents and also enjoyed watching cartoons with her grandson. Ruth is survived by her son Matthew Gove of Ocean Park; daughter Devann Jacobson of Long Beach; husband Floyd Gove of Naselle; brother Jay Kopetka; grandchildren Ashley and Chris Gove, Isaiah Olsen and Peyton Jacobson; and several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death her parents as well as sisters Ladona Sue Nightengale and Vicci Lynn Barrow. A celebration of her life will be Saturday, March 10, 2012, 11:00 AM at Penttila's Chapel by the Sea, Long Beach. A reception follows at the chapel.
