Chester L. Brown, 75, a resident of Long Beach the past 15 years, died in Ilwaco on March 30, 2012. A native of Fountain Head, Tennessee, he was born there on October 16, 1936, the son of Fred and Cordie Brown. Chester moved with his parents to Granger, Washington where he graduated from high school and excelled in sports, particularly swimming events. During his working years Chester was employed for various distributors including Wonder Bakeries, Hamm's and Schlitz beer and was a salesman for Bar Supply Company before retirement. Fifteen years ago Chester moved to the Peninsula where he made many friends and became a "local". He was an avid fisherman and camper. Chester is survived by his daughter Lisa (Ron) Christensen of Minnesota; brother Haskel (Charlene) Brown of Oregon; sister Patricia Brown of Tennessee; grandchildren Danya and Amy Christensen; nephews Philip, Nick and Todd Brown; and niece Renee Brown. A private family service and dispersal of the cremated remains will be held. Memorials may be made to the organization of one's choice. Chester's guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
