Lora F. Rimington, 80, died at her Ocean Park residence in the presence of her family on March 26, 2012. Born August 16, 1931 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Lora was the daughter of Clint and Opal Thrailkill. As a child Lora lived in Dyce, Arkansas prior to moving with her parents to Portland, Oregon in 1940 where she graduated from Girls Polytechnic High School. Lora married Ralph Rimington in 1950 and they resided in Aloha, Oregon before moving to Ocean Park in 1979. Lora worked at Ocean View Convalescent Center in Long Beach until opening her own adult foster care home in 1998. She took pride in her care of her clients, operating the home until 2006. Lora was raised in the Southern Baptist faith and of late had attended Ocean Park Lutheran Church where she enjoyed many friends. In 1983 she was "Mrs. Claus" for the local Lions Club Christmas party and Lora always loved working with children. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, bingo, crocheting and volunteering for various organizations including Ocean Beach Hospital and C-Cap. Lora is survived by daughters Linda (Ron) Penn of Ocean Park and Betty (David) Gollnick of Portland, OR; son Terry (Kimberly) Luper of Reno, NV; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia; brothers Theodore and James; and daughter Bonnie. No service is scheduled.
