Jacqueline Quint

Jacquie died May 1, 2012 with family and friends at her side at her home in Cape Falcon, Oregon. She was born February 2, 1928 in Cook County, Chicago, Illinois. At age 17 Jacquie moved to Spokane to finish high school. She attended Washington State University and graduated from Marylhurst College in 1951. Jacquie married Thomas Frank Burns (the son of Gerald Burns) in Condon, Oregon in 1952 and had five children: Tom Clancey-Burns of Corvallis, Michael Burns of Tillamook, Michelle Chambliss of Hillsboro, Heidi Lent of Seaside, and Patrick Burns of Castle Rock, WA. They were business folk in several endeavors; Burns Insurance of Condon, G & M Grocery of Milwaukie, OR, Burns Grocery of Portland, and Scarborough Insurance of Woodburn. Tom died in September of 1969. Jacquie was also a teacher, beginning her career in 1951. She taught in Oak Grove, Oregon at a one room school house and later at Washington Elementary, Nellie Murr Elementary, and St. Luke's Catholic school, all in Woodburn, Oregon. Jacquie married Walter Southard Quint in 1975 and they eventually moved to Falcon Cove in 1983 where Jacquie resided until her death. Walter passed in 2004. Jacquie was active in the Palette Puddlers artist group and a member of the Oregon Watercolor Society. She was an author, and was interested in botany and the outside world. She loved to travel and support her family, always being there for them. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Sat., May 19, 2012 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter The Fisherman's Catholic Church in Arch Cape, OR. A celebration of her life will be held July 28th at Cape Falcon.
