Monte C. Christensen, 74, a resident of Ocean Park, Washington and a former long time resident of Vancouver, Washington, passed away July 2, 2012 in Ilwaco, Washington. He was the first of four children born to Earl and Dorotha Christensen. Monte attended school in his native Vancouver where he graduated from Evergreen High School in 1955. Shortly after his marriage to Linda Germann they built a home in Brush Prairie, WA where they resided for 52 years, raising three children and a foster child before moving to Ocean Park. Monte was a union plumber by trade but also worked a variety of jobs and started many home-based businesses from carpentry and plumbing to most recently APC Magnetos. He was never idle for long and any tool needed for the job he was sure to have. Survivors include his wife Linda; children Gary (Marcia), DeAnn (Dave) and Ronald (Kris); his mother Dorotha Christensen; sister Carol (Darrel) Clark; brothers Doug (Darlene) and Randy (Patt); seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be Monday, July 9, 2012, 3:00 PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Vancouver. Memorials may be made to the public library of one's choice.
