Jimmy E. Streiff, 64, of Long Beach, died Sept, 1, 2012 at home. He was born October 30, 1947 to Russell and Ann(Adair)Streiff. His father was in the Air Force, and Jimmy was the proverbial military brat. Naturally, the family moved around alot, even a stint in Paris, France. While living in Florida, Jimmy took up the sport of surfing, which he loved. As soon as he could, Jimmy joined the Marines. He served in Vietnam where he was a tunnel rat. After the service, he moved to Portland where he started his own painting company. He also was a crewmember of tugboats. On December 29, 1995 he married Donna O'Rourke. Six years ago, following his retirement, he and Donna moved to Long Beach. Jimmy truly enjoyed his time at the ocean. He loved salmon fishing, flying kites and working on their home. He was a member of the American Legion in POrtland. He is survived by his wife Donna of the family home; mother Ann McCormick of Surprise, AZ; step-children Joel O'Rourke and step-daughter Kasey O'Rourke both of Portland; Brother Ronald Streiff of Florida; sister Patty McKeever of Surprise, AZ; step-grandchildren Brittani, Tessalee and Erin O'Rourke all of Portland and a nephew Chris Harris of Nevada. His father and a sister, Nancy Jones, proceeded him in death. At his request, no formal services will be held. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
