Former Ocean Park resident Helen M. Larson Cadonau, 88, died February 1, 2013 in Vancouver, Washington. One of three daughters born to Reuben and Olga Larson, Helen was born in Seattle on December 13, 1924. Helen married Richard Cadonau in 1946 and in 1948 the couple settled in Ocean Park. There they owned and operated the Drift Inn Restaurant and later Cadonau's Variety Store. After closing the store, Helen worked as a bookkeeper at Jack's Country Store until retirement. She resided in Seaview until several years ago when she moved to Vancouver to be near family. Helen loved her family and friends, golfing, hobbies, and spending time on the beach. She was active as a charter member of the Surfside Golf Club. She was known for her gentle spirit, sense of humor, and enjoyment of life. She had a genuine caring and giving nature and took great pleasure in getting to know people. Helen is survived by her son Gary; daughter Gayle; grandsons Craig and Erik; and great-grandson Tanner. Her husband Richard died in 1987 and her son Steve also preceded her in death. Helen lived her life fully and made a positive difference in the lives of many people. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Celebration of her life will be Saturday, February 23, 2013, 1:00 PM at The Peninsula Church Center in Seaview with a reception following.
