Alberta E. Freeman, 83, a 46 year resident of the Peninsula, died May 23, 2013 in a local care center. A native of Oak Park, WA, Alberta was born there November 17, 1929. A high school graduate, she worked for a number of years at the paper mill in Camas before moving to the Peninsula. Alberta was employed locally by Ocean Spray Cranberries before retiring from Jessie's Ilwaco Fish Co. She and Kenneth Freeman were married July 3, 1947. He has preceded her in death. Surviving are her daughter Carol (Greg) Petit; brothers Lewis, Ernest and Albert; sister Lois; grandchildren Tina (Kevin) Ward, Craig (Misty) Petit and Andy (Angela) Petit; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous other members of her extended family. Her sister Loretta also died earlier. No service will be held at her request. Private interment will be at Ilwaco Cemetery. Her guestbook is available at www.penttilaschapel.com.
