John Michael Noch

John M. Noch, 87, passed peacefully on April 17, 2014 at his Klipsan Beach residence. Born July 16, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio, John grew up there where he received his education. In 1943 John joined the US Navy and served the ensuing three years aboard merchant ships. Following his military service he settled in the Longview/Kelso area where he was employed by Weyerhaeuser until retirement 28 years ago when he came to the Peninsula. John was a member of Ocean Park Eagles, Ocean Park Moose, Long Beach Elks and the American Eagles. He was also active with R.E.A.C., a Jeep club and a yacht club. Activities included hunting, fishing, boating, bowling, pool and dancing. In 1947 John married Beatrice "Bea" Hall and they were married 56 years until her death. In 2006 he married Iris Andersen who survives residing at the family home. Also surviving are a brother Michael Noch and sister Mary Noch both of Cleveland; and a beloved sister-in-law, Irva Johnson, of the family residence. Although John had no children of his own he embraced both Bea and Iris' family as they did him. Known as "Tiny", John, Grandpa and Poppy, John was loved by his family and many friends. He will be deeply missed. John had requested no service. Memorials may be made to the local Boys and Girls Club or the South Pacific County Humane Society.
