Robert "Bob" Dallas Stewart, 73, died June 18, 2014, in Ilwaco, with his faithful and loving family around him. He was born Nov. 26, 1940, in Sewickley, Pa., the son of Dallas Stewart and Clara Meinert. In his youth the family moved to Longview where he graduated form RA Long High School in 1959. He served in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and then was attached to the Marines and went to Vietnam. He served from 1958 to 1962. He was very proud of his military service. On Oct. 22, 1960, he married Sandra Nation. The couple established their first home in Seattle and then later moved in Kirkland where they lived for 32 years. Bob worked as a lead man for the Boeing Company for 37 years, retiring in 2000. Bob and Sandy came to the Peninsula in 2001 and built a home. During their early retirement years they traveled, but always returned to the Peninsula. He was a member of the Peninsula Baptist Church, and of the Peninsula Senior Activity Center, where he volunteered many hours on many projects - his pancakes were legendary at the twice-monthly breakfasts! The RSVP program honored him as Volunteer of the Year. Bob is survived by his wife, Sandra of Ocean Park; his son, Jon Stewart; daughter Chaunté Chalcraft; his brother-in-law Roger Boyes; grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon, Cheyenne, Taylor and Tesah; his nephew Mike Dunbar; and many other members of his extended family. His parents, an infant son, and his three sisters, Mary Ann Stewart, Betty Quirie and Carol Boyes preceded him in death. Memorial servce will be held at Peninsula Baptist Church in Ocean Park on Sat., July 19th at 1:00 PM Military honors service will also be held at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington.
