Loretta Duncan

Loretta Duncan, 89, a resident of Ocean Park the past 28 years, died peacefully at her residence, appropriately enough on July 4, 2014. Loretta was born in Longview and was a graduate of R.A. Long High School. During World War II she served as a member of he Women's Army Air Corps for 2 years. In 1946 she married Allan Duncan and they resided in Longview where Loretta was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was employed as a bookkeeper in the accounting profession. In 1986 she and her husband retired to Ocean Park. Allan died in 2000. Loretta kept busy knitting, sewing, gardening and her family. The golden sunsets and quiet life at the beach were much enjoyed. Survivors include her daughters Cathy Tiger of Tyler, TX and Caran Jackson of Ocean Park; three grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Loretta had requested no formal service.
