James D. Morrison, 58, of Ocean Park, died August 9, 2014 in Ilwaco following a battle with cancer. He was born October 13, 1955 in Mankato, MN to James Thomas and Dixie Ana (Maas) Morrison. One of four children, the family moved from Mankato to Seattle when he was two months old. He graduated from West Seattle High School in 1974. He began his working career in construction for Joe Maas. In 1979 he and his new bride Jennifer moved to Ocean Park. He began working for Wiegardt Bros. in Ocean Park. In 2002 he began working for Goose Point Oysters in Bay Center until illness forced his retirement in 2013. His favorite pastimes were wood working, mechanics, fishing, camping but mostly spending time with his grandchildren and family. Jim is survived his mother Dixie Morrison of Ocean Park; sons David of Long Beach, Nicholas of Ocean Park and James of Seattle; brother Tom Morrison of Aberdeen and grandchildren Cory and Allison Morrison of Long Beach. He was preceded in death by father James Morrison; a brother Richard Morrison and a sister Connie Cromwell. No formal services are planned at this time. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea.
