Long Beach resident Marcella L. "Marci" Hatch, 91, died in Ilwaco on January 25, 2015. The daughter of Oscar and Mabel (Wilkinson) Jacobson, she was born in Beresford, South Dakota on August 22, 1923. She grew up in Beresford where she graduated from high school. Marcie was a graduate of the nursing program at Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa. Moving west, Marcie married her husband Billy Hatch on July 31, 1952 in Longview, Washington. There they operated the Town House Motel until 1976 when they retired and moved to the Peninsula. He died in 1991. Marcie was active with the Ilwaco Post of the American Legion and the Auxiliary of which she was a life member. She also was a life member of Daughters of The Nile; active at the Peninsula Senior Center, Ilwaco Heritage Museum, Ocean Beach Hospital Auxiliary, and the Children's Hospital Auxiliary of Seattle. In her "spare" time she was an avid knitter. There are no immediate survivors. At her request, no service will be held.
