John Carbaugh passed away peacefully on January 29 surrounded by his loving family. John was 82 and a resident of Ocean Park, Washington. Papa John, as he was known to his family and grand-kids, will be remembered for all the joy and fun he brought to his family and friends. He loved the beach and spent lots of time with grand-kids flying kites, fishing, crabbing, driving on the beach and instilling in them a love for the beach and ocean. He was active in Lions Club and loved spending time with friends at The Eagles and The Moose, regularly beating his grandkids in Moose races. John was born in Morton, Washington to Louis and Martha Carbaugh. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Earl Carbaugh, his son John Carbaugh, and grandson Kyle Carbaugh. He is survived by his wife Dee Carbaugh, his brothers Louis and Bill Carbaugh, his daughters Kelly Carbaugh, Debbie Miller, and Tammy Carbaugh, step-children Jim Benton, Robin Wright, Steve Benton and lots and lots of grand-kids. We will miss Papa John and are happy he passed to his new fishing hole peacefully. In lieu of flowers, donations in celebration of John's life can be made to the Peninsula Lions Club, Box 1081, Long Beach, WA 98631. Arrangements by Penttila's Chapel by The Sea, Long Beach.
