Donald M. Hagert

Donald M. Hagert passed away April 18, 2015 at his Ocean Park residence at the age of 76. Don was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. He was born May 23, 1938 in Wobasso, Minnesota, the son of Nicholas and Rosella (Lange) Hagert. He graduated from Sunnyside (Washington) High School in 1956 and joined the United States Air Force the same year. For many years Don was a self-employed plumber. In 2009 he retired to "his" beloved beach. He was a member of the Long Beach Elks, Ocean Park Eagles and member and board member of Ocean Park Moose. Don is survived by the love of his life, wife Julia, at home in Ocean Park; son Nicholas (Trina), daughter Jennifer (Bill) Huck, son Patrick, daughter Stephanie (Rich) Sandberg, daughter Kimberli (Chris) Smasne; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Michael and daughter Kathryn Castongudy. Cremation has taken place at Penttila's Chapel by The Sea in Long Beach. At Don's request, no service will be held.
