Sally Dorene Couch, 76, a life long resident of Chinook, passed peacefully on November 2, 2015 at her daughter's residence in Raymond, Washington. The daughter of Swedish immigrants R. Bennie and Anna (Simmonson) Mattson, Dorene was born at the family home in Chinook on May 31, 1939. She grew up in Chinook where she attended Chinook Grade School, graduating from Ilwaco High School with the class of 1956. On November 11, 1961 she married Loren Couch. Dorene was a wife, mother and homemaker and also was employed in the banking business locally. She was a life long member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Chinook where she was active in many endeavors. She enjoyed her grand and great-grandchildren, gardening, and her life long friendships. Dorene is survived by her daughters Sally King of Olympia, WA, Cindy Konigsberger (Tom Gibbs) of Raymond and Christy Lewis of Raymond; brother Ronald (Sharron) Mattson of Ilwaco; sister Dorothy (Patrick) Pittman of Chinook; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Loren in 1999, brother R. Bennie Mattson Jr., and grandson Jeremy Mullen. Funeral service was held November 7, 2015 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chinook with Pastor Dave Barnet officiating.
