CHINOOK — Nancy H. Butterfield, 78, a long-time resident of the Astoria area, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017 at her home in Chinook, Washington. Born June 16, 1938, having lived in Portland and Cannon Beach, Nancy spent most of her life in Astoria, Oregon, retiring in Chinook, Washington. She raised three boys single-handedly and we turned out just fine.
Nancy worked for 33 years at The Daily Astorian and at times as a reporter for the Chinook Observer.
Nancy loved socializing with unique people or finding unique things about them. She enjoyed traveling, genealogy and British TV dramas. She was always a voracious reader.
Nancy attended Reed College.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Rush. She is survived by her three sons, Mark, Tod (wife Brenda) and Jason (wife Geneava), and several grandchildren.
